On the eve of the thirteenth month, the Akudol Games are the main event broadcasted december 31st through the Netherworld. It's a festival of evidols by evidols for evidols and an honored and fierce competition. Families reunite to watch the show while celebrating the 13 days of rest of the demon king that constitute the thirteenth month.[1]
Overview of the Games[]
"At the start of the thirteenth month, boys and girls alike come together and make some noise ! Filled with laughter, tears and excitement, it's the Akudol Games !" ― Song of the Akudol Games[2][3]
The games are played in front of the crowd of a stadium and broadcasted in the rest of the Netherworld. It is considered the main event on TV for the eve of the thirteenth.[4] The latest games were presented by Machara and the evidol specialist Gontetsu.
An Athletic Competition[]
Target takedown.
The evildol agencies send their stars to the games with a team of athletic evidols to back them up because the first phase of the competition, opened to male and female evidols alike,[5] is made of trials like: races, a battle of arm strength, a vermin hunt, target takedown or tail wrestling and finishes with a team battle. Looking cute during those events is as much important for the evidol contestants than winning the trials themselves.
Live Concerts[]
The winner team of the athletic competitions gains the advantage of choosing the type of music for the final and most important trial, the live concerts. One after the other, the teams are supposed to perform songs of their choices on stage as long as the musical number overall is in the style that was chosen by the leading team.
The Champion[]
The best performance at the concert wins the games. The best performers of the games are declared MVE (most valuable evidols) and the winner is declared the champion of the games. Then the champion makes a speach before all the evidols reunites at the center of the stadium for the end of the festivities and be in front of the cameras, live on television, for the countdown to the Eve of the Thirteenth.
