Baal is one of the demon heroes of the Thirteen Crowns and the leader of the Demon army of the South. His title is Thunder lord, also called the "Tactician of the South." He was the founder of the Magical Apparatus Battler at Babyls Demon School.
Operating in the shadows, Baal is the leader of the Demon Reformation, where he wants the current institution of the Demon World to return to its origins. Baal is the main antagonist of the series.
Appearance[]
Baal is a young man with pale skin and spiky blond hair, with two strands of hair resembling lightning strikes on both sides of his face. He has sharp golden eyes and striking eyelashes. His costume includes a black jacket, white fur adorning his neck, and black pants.
Personality[]
Baal is a proud man who harbors sinister ambitions of being the leader of an Underworld that has returned to its chaotic and evil origins. He is cruel and dismissive of other people, whether they are his subordinates or fellow members of the Thirteen Crowns. He is arrogant enough to call fellow Crowns, to their face at the Thirteen Dinner, that they were at a gathering of fools. Baal is also competitive and stingy against the other Crowns, a trait in common with his peers, as he is shown immediately fighting with Amaymon when the latter is provoked.
He is shrewd and cunning, famously known as the "Tactician of the South." He managed to brew a revolutionary movement while being a member of the Thirteen Crowns without drawing suspicion on himself. As his title implies, he is a charismatic and wise leader, earning the loyalty of the Six Fingers and effectively commanding them to carry out elaborate plans.
Baal is very good at acting and hiding his malicious intentions. Based on Sabro's reaction to seeing him, he must have had a good relationship with his nephew and niece, posing as a cool and supportive uncle. In truth, since Baal was behind Kirio's attempt to blow up Babyls, Baal probably cared very little about his nephew. In addition, no one seemed to have noticed that he had returned to his origins, notably Sabro, who had gone through training to recognize the trait. Considering how his plan appears to be playing the long game, he must have commendable patience. Therefore, his brash and arrogant attitude before the Thirteen Crowns may be just an act.
Despite his great patience, Baal also has a bad temper; when he calls Kirio, he yells at him after he picks up the call after a few seconds instead of doing it immediately due to having a conversation with Iruma. However, this is probably only when he interacts with Kirio since he considers him a little brother and often scolds him for his actions.
History[]
Baal is one of the Thirteen Crowns, a mighty and influential high-ranking demon in the Underworld. He is known as the "Thunder Lord" and the "Tactician of the South." According to his nephew Sabro, enemy soldiers flee from the battlefield when they hear his name, and he has earned numerous heroic exploits.
He apparently has attended Babyls Demon School and founded the Magic Tools Research Battler, making it a hub to gather followers for his personal ambition. Therefore, he must have begun harboring his revolutionary agenda before enrolling in Babyls. Baal first met Kirio here when he was still a child, bringing him under his wing. He raised Kirio and tasked him with the destruction of Babyls.

Relationships[]
Amy Kirio[]
An underclassman of Babyls, Kirio looks up to Baal, even referring to him as "big brother." Baal stated that Kirio's twisted nature wasn't wrong as he believed that the netherworld had become too orderly and wished to bring chaos back into reign. Kirio received Baal's guidance, attention, and a device to store and amplify his weak magic powers.
Baal treats Kirio rather roughly, shown by scolding Kirio repeatedly for failing to pick up on his calls quickly and treating him as coldly as any other subordinate. However, Baal seems to hold Kirio in great importance, praising the latter's glorious return to origins and calling him "the most demonic of all." He considers Kirio an essential part of his movement, so he engineers a plan to break Kirio out of captivity and destroy Walter Park.
Six Fingers[]
Baal is the commander of the Six Fingers, hinting that he must have enough power and authority to command their respect. He is seen dismissing Ocho's wounded state when hearing the latter's report and even kicking the latter for making a mess on his floor. As of Chapter 267, it's apparent he's kinder to at least some of the Six Fingers members when they do the same.
The Thirteen Crowns[]
Baal acts arrogant and dismissive towards his fellow Crowns, even showing direct disrespect towards the meandering and petty arguments among the older members. However, he considered the Thirteen Dinner an important enough event to attend semi-regularly while a number of his colleagues either were too busy or thought it was beneath their time (yet Amaymon seems to indicate that he is also one of the regular absentees).
The older Crowns, such as Amaymon, thought he was a brash upstart who was too arrogant, which, to Baal's credit, he appeared easily riled into arguments. However, he and Azazel Henri seem to have a professional relationship, if not amenable, as the latter took Baal's allegation about Lord Sullivan seriously, despite a lack of concrete evidence.
Sabnock Sabro[]
They appear to be on good terms as Baal was even willing to recommend Sabro as the next demon king candidate, but Sabro refused.
Sabnock Sabzan[]
It seems that Baal and Sabzan (Sabro's father) aren't on good terms, as the latter tells the former to stay away from Sabro and his family.
