Buddies (悪友 Akuyū?) is the one hundred-and-forty-fourth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
Sullivan is in tears of joy, hearing that his grandson is asking for presents for once. Iruma is off to hang out with Lied and promised to bring over a new game console to try out. At the apartments, Lied asks Iruma if he has it, and Iruma shows his grandpa bought the console and game for him. Showing him the game, Lied excitedly invites him in. Gathering up snacks and sneaking past a barricaded door, Iruma enters Lied's bedroom.
The two cheer to themselves for being this year's Harvest Festival's Young Kings, and Lied helps Iruma set up his character in the game. The two bond over playing video games, discussing since they're Young Kings, they're adults now, and what kind of partners they'll choose in their game. Everything seemed pretty laid back until Lied asked what kind of girls Iruma likes. Shocked by the sudden change in subject, Lied continues to pester Iruma into revealing his type, but Iruma doesn't seem to have an interest which infuriates Lied. So he decides to pull out his secret weapon: an adult magazine. The two argue loudly over the magazine, Lied trying to lend it to him and Iruma refusing it out of concern about his grandfather finding out about it. Their ruckus ended when their noise awakened a hungover demoness who turned out to be Lied's big sister Shakky.
Irritated by the loud noises, Shakky joins in picking on Lied until he tells her his classmate is visiting. Seeing Iruma in the middle of their sibling chant, Shakky leaves for a second to dress up in her Sabbath dress. She introduces herself like reading a script, asking if Iruma has an older brother. Lied struggles to get his sister to leave, and the two fight, Shakky trying to bond with Iruma and Lied trying to kick her out of his room. In the end, Lied chains his older sister up in her room, scolding her for trying to use her wiles on Iruma because he's naive. Pouting, Shakky complains about how he's changed and is overprotective of his classmates. Lied replies he's kind of like a little brother and likes his classmates. Smiling and leaving his sister in her chambers, Shakky chuckles at how mature he's become.
Returning to his friend, Iruma thanked Lied and admitted that he couldn't have won the Harvest Festival without him and his classmates. He's grateful for all Lied has done for him and finds him an interesting and reliable little brother. This revelation sparks a new argument between the two, which one is the little brother in this relationship.
