Summary[]
With four weeks left until the Music Festival, Azazel Ameri informs Ronove Lomiere and Ampsey Nafra that because it is the Student Council's responsibility to make sure the school functions properly, she will be tasking the two of them with reviewing the first-year's Music Festival performances. While Nafra is happy to do so, Lomiere immediately refuses, citing his first reason is that the task isn't glorious enough, especially after doing so much paperwork. His second reason is that he can't stand Nafra's stench, causing Nafra to get angry at him. Ameri says to Lomiere that this could be his chance to interact with the students and make a name for himself. Thinking of it as a parade, he accepts her request and departs with Nafra, but not before saying he needs to take care of his stench. Ameri muses how easy Lomiere is while thinking about what kind of performance Iruma will put on, and after fantasizing about him in various outfits doing various performances, she says he would look good in all of it.
Lomiere and Nafra start by visting Class A (with Nafra informing everyone via sign that they came to interview). The students of Class A say they will do a song recital with lyrics based on myths and fairy tales from the Demon World, even saying with Orobus Coco's stellar voice, they may win, which humbles him. Lomiere, however, yells that their idea is lame, and they need to make a bigger impact and pay attention to smaller details, all the while filling their room with balloons, roses, and large books about himself before leaving with Nafra (who holds a sign saying 'we're sorry').
Their next stop is Class B, where they see the students performing a play. Lomiere says their play is boring and they should add twists and development, such as the princess fusing with a beast or burning down the castle. He leaves them with his props as Nafra once again holds up a sign saying 'sorry'. In Class C, the two see the class is divided between those who want to play rock music and those who want to play classical music. He directs their attention with his harp performance and has them tied up with Nafra holding a sign saying 'please get along' as they take their leave.
Lomiere and Nafra pay a visit to Class D and Class E before Zagan Johnny Western and Kimaris Quichelight come into Ameri's office to report that Lomiere and Nafra are causing too much trouble for the first-years. To their surprise, Ameri is completely okay with it. When they inquire, she says that this is the student's chance to interact with Lomiere due to his usual reluctance, and that the reason Lomiere is allowed to do as he pleases is because she believes he knows what he is doing. She reminds her subordinates about how around a year ago, Lomiere led his class to victory during the Music Festival, and because she considers him the one who carved defeat into her academic record for the first time, she sees him as good inspiration for the first-years as he is charismatic even without his Bloodline Magic. Despite her wondering what kind of performance the first-years will put on after being exposed to him, her subordinates report they are receiving a lot of complaints, but she says that is to be expected.
Lomiere and Nafra finally arrive at Royal One to check up on the Abnormal Class, but are left extremely shocked when they see everyone (except Iruma) lying on the ground exhausted and bruised, which terrifies the two.
