A New Year Starts (新たなる一年 Arata naru Ichi Nen?, also known as 新たなる1年 in the manga volume) is the two hundred-and-fifteenth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
At the auditorium, new student Sabnock Silvia admits how excited she is that she is finally attending her dream school. Her boisterousness does annoy several people sitting around her. She asks the student sitting next to her what the entrance ceremony will include, but the student tells her to keep it down. Kalego then steps forward and declares that the ceremony has begun.
To kickstart it, Sullivan takes the stand as he announces how happy he is to see new students attend his school - though he immediately shifts gears to brag about Iruma, which causes Kalego to demand he is taken away. After he is, the students are left confused as Silvia tells the student next to her that she once met Iruma, calling him a really kind person. The student, however, reveals that she has also met him. The student is then revealed to be Kerori's younger sister Crocell Chima, who will give the first-year's speech.
As Chima walks to the stage, the students cheer for her as they reveal she got the top score on the entrance exam (though others notice how small she is too). After she gets a stool to reach the microphone, she introduces herself and gives her speech, which ends with a round of applause (and a mention from Kalego for how easier that went compared to last year). As Chima walks off the stage, Silvia hugs her as he tells her how awesome she was giving that speech, and the two properly introduce each other. Just as Silvia asks if Chima wants to eat with her, everyone's attention is turned to the presence of Ameri, who is revealed to be a third-year now. Ameri then asks if she can speak to Chima.
Ameri takes Chima and Silvia to the hallways and congratulates Chima for her speech, and that she feels she owes her for everything regarding the Akudol Games. When Chima doesn't say anything, Ameri asks if she was surprised to see her, but Chima admits she isn't because she wanted to say something to her: that she won't lose to her.
Ameri becomes impressed by Chima's declaration and assumes she is talking about surpassing her as the next head of the Student Council, but when Iruma arrives, Chima immediately runs over to him to talk to him. Iruma is surprised to see her and that she cut her hair, which he thought looked nice, causing her to blush heavily. It then occurs to Ameri that what Chima was talking about previously was losing in competing for Iruma's affection, as she has fallen in love with him.
