"You scared me for a moment, but I am not afraid anymore. An ice demon's jealousy is... hotter and fiercer than any other emotion. Now freeze to your core, and rest in peace!" ― Crocell Chima
Battle For The Best Spot (ポジションバトル Pojishonbatoru?) is the two hundred-and-thirty-first chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
Seeing that the atmosphere has changed, Garson suggests to Chima that they should bail while the two flirt. Chima, however, is filled with rage, as she had hoped for a "princess" moment between her and Iruma but feels Shiida ruined it. Chima constructs a massive wall of ice to forcefully separate Iruma from Shiida, under the act that Chima was trying to protect him from her "charm spell". Iruma thanks her but says they need to fall back, only for Chima to reply that she wants to have a "woman-to-woman" discussion with Shiida. At last, Iruma accepts Chima's apparent reason and lets her go. But before going, she gives Iruma a brief hug.
Shiida is confused by Chima's sudden decision to speak with her, but Chima simply states that she has held Iruma's hand as a "lover" would, be patted on the head by him, been complemented by him multiple times for her skills, and now has given him a hug, which she considers way pervier, ergo, she wins. Shiida, however, still has no idea about what she is talking about. Still, Chima tells Shiida she was afraid of her but not anymore, as an ice demon's jealousy burns hotter than any other emotion. All fueled up, Chima freezes Shiida, but Shiida easily breaks free and charges for Chima, only for her to erect a wall of ice covered in spikes. Shiida acknowledges that Chima's strength comes from her resolve to hurt her enemy, but she considers her too young to fight her one-on-one, as she immediately tears through Chima's balloon with a kick.
Though left stunned, Iruma immediately grabs Chima's arm and tries to run with her. Chima tries to apologize for her recklessness, but Iruma tells her not to worry about it, as she helped in buying the three of them time. He also thanks her for fighting for them, causing her to blush heavily. Garson begins to call them, who has used his Bloodline Magic, Poison Fang, to secrete a poison strong enough to eat through the floor, making a hole for them to jump into to escape. He also covers the two in the antidote since the hole contains his poison. Before they can jump in, Shiida snaps off a piece of Chima's ice and throws it at Garson's balloon, but Iruma immediately moves him out of the way, and they jump into the hole. Due to this, Garson ended up in Iruma's lap, the spot which Chima wanted. Chima gets jealous and screams at Garson for "stealing" her spot. Shiida chooses not to chase after them and calls from above that they all did a good job, even though Iruma's team only has one heart balloon left.
