"Listen carefully, Soi. Don't make a sound. Imagine an ice cream melting into the ground on a sweltering day. And slowly, slowly blend into the air around you. I know you can hear a lot of noise right now, but you have to block it all out. Soi... you are now one with the world." ― Purson Purton
One With the World (世界の一部 Sekai no Ichibu?) is the two hundred-and-thirty-fourth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
In a flashback, Soi remembers spotting his brother, Purson Purton, who used his Bloodline Magic to hide his facial features. He tells Soi to be quiet as their father comes looking for Purton. Soi tries to call him, but Purton covers his mouth and tells him to be quiet. Instead, he suggests imagining an ice cream melting into the ground and similarly blending into the air around him along with Soi, to the point that Purton declares the two of them are now "one with the world."
Purson's mother then comes in, asking her husband if he has seen Purton. Soi sees her and starts crawling towards her, but to his surprise, she brushes right past him, even though she heard him call her earlier. The two proceed to leave to continue looking for their sons. This sight causes Soi to burst out crying and expose himself. Soi's mother starts calming him down as his father scolds Purton for not reporting to him after his mission is complete and scaring Soi. Purton apologizes to both of them before telling Soi that while he is still young, he believes this lesson will help him one day.
As it turns out, this was the only memory Soi had of his older brother, as he vanished without a trace and was, therefore, not a big part of Soi's life, which didn't make him very sad. Still, his reason for remembering him was to harness the feeling of that day and blend into the surroundings with his juniors. As he focuses intensely, the teachers start to walk away, though Nikomaru accidentally bumps into a candle and causes it to fall. Sepata catches it using his Bloodline Magic, Flexibility, which allows him to stretch any part of his body with his magic. He apologizes to Soi for nearly blowing their cover, only to see his face disappear. However, this was because Soi could successfully replicate his brother's technique and encompass his juniors so that they disappeared too.
Sepata is left in awe at Soi's abilities as the teachers seemingly walk away in front of them without noticing them. Soi wonders if he did a good job and seems to get his answer by the looks of gratitude on Sepata and Nikomaru's faces. Just as Soi starts smiling, suddenly, Atori appears behind him and grabs both of his junior's hearts, squeezing them and popping them simultaneously and leaving Soi, Nikomaru, and Sepata in shock.
