Eliminated (敗退 Haitai?) is the two hundred-and-thirty-fifth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
When Atori popped their balloon, the shock caused Soi's magic to wear off. His sudden appearance shocked the other teachers, who genuinely could not see him. Ichou asks Atori how he found them, and he simply answers that he knows someone good with this type of magic. He gets scolded by Murmur for popping both simultaneously as he should have just left one, to which Atori said he just got excited when he found them. Before he leaves, Atori compliments Soi for being able to replicate that technique at his age and says that his elimination from the exam was simply due to a bad matchup between the two.
After the teachers leave, Sepata notices Soi has dissolved his face, as he feels deeply ashamed and embarrassed that his technique was seen through even after pushing himself. He starts to cry and apologizes to both of them for not being able to hide them through to the end of the exam and failing them. Just as Sepata is about to say something, Nikomaru extends his feelers to Soi and uses his Bloodline Magic, Harmony, to convey his feelings of gratitude and joy to Soi in the form of a meadow. As Soi's magic wears off, Sepata tells Soi that he and Nikomaru are happy to be on his team because they think of him as the coolest.
The announcement of Soi's elimination reaches the ears of Lied and his juniors hiding in the Gaming Division's room. The two panic after hearing that more teachers are being added to the mix, but then tell Lied that they successfully escaped thanks to him and his Bloodline Magic, which they think was very cool of him. Despite their praise, the two noticed Lied filled with frustration. Lied tells the two that his frustration comes from the fact that not only did Robin pop one of their balloons the minute the exam started, he feels that his tutor was going easy on them. As a result, Lied has decided to get serious and confront the enemies head-on, gearing up first alongside his juniors. Just as they leave the room, their last balloon is popped by Orias Oswell, who uses his Bloodline Magic to ensure good luck for himself. He tells them that he wants to get serious since they are fifteen minutes into the exam. He also considers it as getting payback for Lied beating him during the Abnormal Class' mission to claim Royal One), but this only ends up getting him attacked by even more frustrated students.
As for Clara, it is revealed that all her team's balloons have popped, and now the three are en route to the drop-out tent courtesy of Suzy's Gatling Daffodil. Fuwatoro apologizes to Clara for allowing her balloon to be popped, while Clara apologizes for not noticing the puppet grass beforehand. Yabashi stops the two from blaming themselves and says that while they were eliminated early, they at least put up a good fight and held on pretty well, all things considered, which cheers the two of them up.
Elsewhere, Dali admits they may be rushing through this exam by eliminating three teams in sixteen minutes, and maybe they are being too harsh. Kalego, however, states they aren't being harsh enough.
