Demons Crying Out Their Love (愛を叫ぶ悪魔たち Ai o Sakebu Akuma-Tachi?) is the two hundred-and-forty-fifth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
Earlier, Uzu tried to stop Marianne from going to Kamui's side since they needed her to help shut down the device. Zeze then spoke up and told Marianne to go to his aid, for he had a secret plan to help them win. Uzu asks him what this "plan" is, and Zeze says that as part of it, he needs the two of them to tell him that they love him, a statement that leaves the two of them baffled (and heavily blushing when he tells them the words he wants them to say).
It turns out that there is an excellent reason for this: the Zepar Clan are called "Love Eating Demons;" they literally feed on love. His older sister, Zepar Palalaika, aka the "Magical Beasts Circus's Starlet;" his older brother, Zepar Zoui, the "Popular Novelist;" and his mother, Zepar Zera, the "Legendary Rock Singer;" and himself, the "Promising Modevil," feed on fan letters, bouquets of flowers, and stuffed toys for nourishment as opposed to actual food. They even find ways to "cook" them, like how Zoui eats his letters with ink sauce and bookmarks as garnish. However, he ends up throwing up when he realizes that one of the letters he ate was hate mail, which he would have seen if he had opened the letters (though he admits he likes them "organic").
With the gifts and loving words that the clan feasts on, they can convert that nourishment into magic, so to harness more love, they hone their abilities to make themselves even more popular. On top of that, they are already accustomed to learning high-level magic at an early age. With their Bloodline Magic, "Love Eater," their magic will increase in proportion to the amount of love they are given, allowing them to use high-level spells, thus allowing them to gain more attention in a cycle.
As Zeze continues to tell the two girls to say that they love him, Silvia tells him that she doesn't even like him, which, to both of their surprise, causes him to cough up blood as he collapses from pain to his organs, proving that he was serious in asking them to say their "love" for him. Though they don't understand, they agree to do so and start crying out their love for Zeze, which restores him and gives him the strength to perform the high-level magic "Doppler," which allows him to create a clone of himself. Doing so allowed them to generate enough people to supply magic to the device.
Unfortunately, Momonoki regains her senses, destroys her phone, and tells the group that she will show no mercy for their trick. She uses brute force to break free of Marianne's illusion and makes a beeline for the device. Just as she unleashes "Bolt Strike," her attack is blocked by a massive wall of ice courtesy of Crocell Kerori, who arrived alongside Ix Elizabetta.
