The Ones Who Prepare (準備する者たち Junbi Suru Monotachi?, or Demons in Prep in the official English volume) is the twenty-fifth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
Standing in preparation, Clara has her pajamas, pillow and various other items for a slumber party. The first years, Iruma, Alice and Clara are quite excited for having an overnight at Babyls. But they’re not just there for fun, but to also work on their presentation. An explosion occurs, as Kirio sighs over the failure in the firework project. Concern for his injures, Kirio explains to Iruma that he’s perfectly fine thanks to his bloodline ability. Placing his hand forward, Iruma feels Kirios ability “Barrier”, an invisible shield that protected him from explosions though he still coughs up blood from the recoil. Kirio admits fireworks are difficult to make without knowing what they look like. However, Iruma has an idea on where he can get the reference.
In the Lounge, Ameri meets up with Iruma to her surprise, normally she’s the one who calls him. She holds up the manga “First Love Memories” (Hatsukoi Memory) that Iruma requested. In the volume, it has the fireworks Iruma needs for his battler project. Reluctant to the request, Ameri dismissed the request despite Iruma's plead. She explain these books are forbidden and she cannot hand them out to anyone. Iruma understands and made the decision to find another way to make fireworks without using examples. Hearing this, Ameri realizes this will be her chance to see fireworks. So she places the manga on the table and nonchalantly acts tired and edges Iruma to take the book while her back is turned. Iruma thanks Ameri for lending him the book despite while she scolds him for not taking the hint of her deceit.
Back at the Magical Apparatus Battler, Iruma presents the page with the fireworks to his friends. His friends are amazed by the imagery, though they don’t know where Iruma got this he says it’s a secret. But that doesn’t matter now, they have the reference and can proceed with experiment. And so the battler proceeds with their project in making homemade fireworks. Kirio works in the ball and shields himself from the explosion, Clara shows off her blueprints of the canon, and Alice imbued the ball with his fire magic.
And nightfall, the battler went outside to test out their firework project and canon. Alice lights the fuse, and they watch in awe as their experiment goes off in success. Though it was small they can still make bigger, but it is put off for now since it is quite late. Kirio happily talks how great it is to have three new members, having a slumber party and creating something together. He thanks Iruma for this, feeling embarrassed til he gets a phone call from his senior. He takes it outside of the battler room to get yelled at and it is revealed to be Baal of the Thirteen Crowns on the line. Turns out the two have been plotting the destruction of Babyls, and thanks to the new device their plan is in motion. Kirio smiles at the thought of it and gladly looks forward to the evil plot.
