"Why... why is this happening... I just want... to get along... just like other teams... working together to fight... Discord... is bad... I have to end it..." ― Gaap Goemon
Gaap Goemon: Part 1 (ガープ・ゴエモン前編 Gāpu Goemon Zenben?) is the two hundred-and-seventy-second chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
An extremely tired Picero makes his way to Goemon's home, where he finds the demon in question sulking. Picero sees this and angrily kicks Goemon for still moping and skipping school and then orders him to make some tea since he's a guest, which Goemon quickly does.
Goemon gives Picero his tea, but the latter sees Goemon wearing a paper bag over his head. Picero asks why, and Goemon calls it a "preventive measure." This prompts Picero to ask Goemon if what happened during the Heartbreaker still upsets him, even though he's back to normal now. Goemon, however, says he's admonishing himself for doing something he shouldn't have.
It turns out that during the midpoint of the Heartbreaker, Goemon, Jig Zakumu, and Roel Michel, Goemon's two juniors, crossed paths with Murmur Tsumuru, Babyls's psychiatry teacher (who secretly wanted to encounter Elizabetta). Though he calls Goemon's team a combat-oriented one, he notices they aren't getting along. Sure enough, Zakumu and Michel were constantly arguing, with Zakumu favoring standing their ground and fighting, while Michel favors continuously moving, calling Zakumu an idiot for wanting to expose himself. Zakumu tells Goemon they should go on the offensive with himself on the frontline, but Michel says they should fall back so their balloons don't pop. Goemon, however, is desperately trying to calm the two down and suggests they eat some of his onigiri, but that doesn't work.
Tsumuru uses his bloodline magic, called "Mood Ring," to gauge the mental state of the three, seeing that Goemon is "blue," which means he's anxious and exhausted; Zakumu is "red," for being excited and rage-filled; and Michel is "purple," for being rage-filled and brutal. In addition to gauging everyone's mental state, Tsumuru can check their mana quantity, ability level, and bloodline magic. Thanks to all of that, though, Tsumuru can tell how messy Goemon's team is, and he decides to up the discord by popping Zakumu's balloon.
Before Tsumuru can pop the last balloon, Goemon pushes him back with a wind blade. When he turns around to ask if his juniors are okay, he sees Michel punch Zakumu for not staying back, causing both of them to get physical. Goemon desperately pleads they stop fighting while Tsumuru starts regretting his interference. He decides to just have them drop out and go to the medical tent before someone goes into their evil cycle, but suddenly, Goemon completely snaps, as evidenced by his aura turning "black," which scares even Tsumuru.
Quickly, Tsumuru cuts the live feed and yells to Zakumu and Michel to close their eyes, but it's too late; the silvery fur around Goemon's face lifts up, revealing his true appearance to the two, which horrifies them.
It is revealed that the Gaap Family has one rule: no one is allowed to show anyone their true appearance.
