"I'll come with you. And I will tell them that if you ever go berserk again, I'll stop you even if I have to bury you in a hole." ― Agares Picero
Gaap Goemon: Part 2 (ガープ・ゴエモン後編 Gāpu Goemon Kōhen?) is the two hundred-and-seventy-third chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
According to legend, the demon who would become known as Gaap was born of chaos, and to survive, it created the ultimate form of defense against enemies, which was having an incredibly ugly and horrifying face that would drive demons insane by looking at it. On the one hand, such a hideous form meant that Gaap had no trouble hunting prey or staying away from enemies, but on the other hand, it meant he was extremely lonely. One day, however, a deity named Harpnus showed sympathy for Gaap by giving him the power to control the wind and blessed him with a silver coat of fur to cover himself, and he should use it with care to make sure no one ever sees his true form. Since then, Gaap's descendants were taught this rule as they shared a similar appearance.
After Goemon showed his true face to his juniors, Tsumuru quickly incapacitated him and casted multitudes of advanced level magic on himself to calm himself down, and then cast the same kind of magic on Zakumu and Michel, with the two falling unconscious. Tsumuru calls for the relief squad immediately after.
When Goemon comes to, he despairs over his actions and begs Tsumuru to let him see the students so he can apologize to them. Tsumuru, however, reveals he won't be able to for a while because while they are both stable, their minds are still fragile. Even though they only caught a glimpse of Goemon's face and likely won't remember it, seeing him so soon after will give them flashbacks and send them into shock, which is why he can't talk to them yet.
His story recounted Goemon calls himself a fool because even though he spent so much time with everyone in the Abnormal Class and met so many new demons during the Harvest Festival. He thought his appearance wouldn't hinder him from fulfilling his ambition of having 100 allies, but this experience made him think it was folly. Goemon was genuinely excited for the Heartbreaker, thinking he could make more allies, yet he panicked and now believes he should stay away from everyone to avoid making the same mistake twice.
To Goemon's surprise, he sees Picero has completely fallen asleep. He wakes up and tells Goemon he was droning on for so long it became lunchtime. Goemon prepares to make something but sees Picero made onigiri for him. Picero tells Goemon to eat and sleep a lot, and then he needs to go for a walk to clear his head, and when he finishes that, he can come back to school, all of which Goemon understands. Picero then tells Goemon that once he can see Zakumu and Michel, he will apologize to them and Tsumuru, even offering to go with him and promising them that if Goemon ever goes berserk again, he'll personally stop him. Picero's words bring Goemon to tears, and he deeply thanks him.
Picero then does a 180 and yells at Goemon for not picking up his phone because everyone kept approaching and asking about him, which annoyed him. Goemon checks his phone and sees it filled with messages from everyone asking if he's okay and to take care of himself. Picero says that even if he tries to push everyone away, they'll just go to him, so he should just let those "nosy" people get involved. Goemon cries and says he'll respond immediately and make lots of onigiri to send as an apology (along with letters), but Picero tells him that would be too cringy.
