The Joy of Conversation (貴方と話せる幸せに Anata to Hanaseru Shiawase ni?) is the three hundred-and-fourteenth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
At the 666th level of Babel Tower, the Inauguration Ceremony for the new members of the Thirteen Crowns begins. Participating in the ceremony are:
- "The Three Greats" Lord Sullivan, Lord Belial, and Lady Levi.
- "Extraordinary Assistant" Belzebuth.
- "Thunder Lord" Baal, who also has the same rank as Belzebuth.
- "Heavenly Eyes" Astaroh.
- "Head of Spirits" Paimon.
- "Chief of the Four Cardinals" Amaymon.
- "Head of Lust" Asmodeus Amaryllis.
- "Director of Demon Border Patrol" Azazel Henri.
- And the newest members, "Canine Emperor" Naberius Narnia, "Board Game King" Mephisto, and "Supreme Archer" Barbatos Bachiko, the latter three Sullivan wishes that they contribute to the development of the Demon World going forward.
Sullivan tells Bachiko that he appreciates her decision to join them. According to him, the Thirteen Crowns and Three Heroes of the Great Demon Valley War avoided contact unless their interests aligned, which made them keep to their own separate spheres of influence, but now that Bachiko is joining them, the Thirteen Crowns have taken the first step to a future where the two sides can cooperate with her serving as the link, which is the reason he is so grateful she is joining them. Bachiko accepts Sullivan's praise as everyone sits to get their picture taken.
With that, the ceremony finishes, but Sullivan proposes that they all have a picnic for the next Thirteen's Dinner. This shocks everyone, with Sullivan telling everyone they will be given the details later before taking his leave. Belial and Levi catch up to Sullivan and ask him why he would suggest such a thing, but Sullivan tells them that he believes Derkila would have suggested the same thing.
He tells the two that he feels he and everyone else have been overthinking the weight of the Thirteen Crowns and the importance of Derkila's seat, even pointing out that Derkila never used his seat himself. To Sullivan, Derkila saw the Thirteen and his seat as a place where people could sit down and chat, to meet face-to-face with and hear the voices of the ones who will move the Demon World forward; anywhere could be a place to talk.
That said, Sullivan announces that when Derkila returns, he will step down from the Thirteen, but until that day, he will make the Demon World into something far more interesting.
