"As an instructor of Babyls... I have a duty to devote everything I have to the growth of my students." ― Morax Momonoki
The New Teacher, Momonoki: Part 2 (新人教師モモノキ 後編 Shinjin Kyōshi Momonoki Kōhen?) is the three hundred-and-eighteenth chapter of Osamu Nishi's Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
After talking to various teachers, Momonoki came up with an idea. Taking her class to a field behind the school, Momonoki tells her students she will give them a hands-on lesson to summarize everything they've learned thus far. More specifically, Momonoki plans on using spells on the students and having them defend themselves.
Before the students can say something, Momonoki uses a spell called "Shaver," firing multiple wind blades. Some students block the attack using the protection spell "Gran," while others try to evade. After finishing, Momonoki commends the ones who blocked it. The students who didn't block it asked her what she was doing, but she simply said it was in their assignment, which they didn't know because they didn't do it. They try to say that her lesson seemed too sudden, but Momonoki contradicts, saying that they discussed the importance of the spell and tips for activating it in class. She also adds that "Gran" is a spell used with just knowledge, regardless of their mana capacity, and she taught them this to protect themselves from anything in the Demon World. Following that, Momonoki uses a variety of magic that she says can be blocked with "Gran," much to the students' displeasure, who desperately apologize for cheating.
Later, Momonoki reports to Kalego her results, and to her joy, he compliments her hard work. As she walks away, she encounters Shichiro, who asks how things went, to which she says things went great. Momonoki thanks Shichiro and all the other teachers for their advice that helped her get her students in line. But to her complete surprise, Shichiro and Dali reveal that Kalego asked them to help her because, according to Shichiro, Kalego is bad at giving advice himself.
To prove their claims, Dali shows Momonoki Kalego's notebook, filled with notes for her. The teachers start musing that Kalego is excited to have a junior even if he doesn't show it, though Kalego appears behind everyone, demanding his notebook back. However, because of everything, Momonoki develops a huge crush on Kalego and is now beet-red. And when Kalego notices, he puts his hand on her forehead, causing her to pass out.
Her tale finished, and all five students are left in awe, praising Momonoki for her teaching skills and thanking her for her hard work. She responds with a smile, and the girls gush over how cute she looks (with Kerori saying Momonoki could take Kalego down with such a smile).
