Hatsukoi Memory (初恋メモリー First Love Memories) is a shoujo-genre manga originating from the human world. It focuses on the female protagonist Hoshino Rin, aged 16, who pursues her puppy love with a guy named Aozora Kakeru, a transfer student at their school.

The manga has been known for its great popularity back in the human world as this work has amassed hundreds of volumes, of which Iruma Suzuki is a fan and has extensive knowledge of its extensive plotline and story. In addition, the latter has contributed and is credited as an assistant in writing and/or drawing Hatsukoi Memory.

Overview[]

Hatsukoi Memory is a generic shoujo manga with a lead of a female character, Hoshino Rin, who also follows Aozora Kakeru, a guy she falls in love with at first sight after accidentally bumping into each other at the very starting page of the book.[1] Its story undergoes different plots, from typical romantic scenes between the two and the introduction of love rivals (a girl named Sayo[2]) to more of a twist involving the yakuza.

It is assumed that the manga has been published for ages (Iruma stating how nostalgic to see the manga again), but it can also be said that the story is still ongoing (the latter also displays the latest volume instead of the final.). While the manga's original author has not been revealed, Iruma has been confirmed to have been one of the assistants at some point.

In the Demon World, many of these books are kept hidden in the Babyls Demon School's Student Council room and hidden through a large bookcase.[3] They are subsequently called Forbidden Books or Secret Relics and have been passed down through generations by the Azazel Family and are currently in Azazel Ameri's care, although it is unknown why it was kept hidden in the school grounds instead of their home. Furthermore, these books are, in fact, written in Japanese.

Trivia[]

  • The anime reveals that the manga-publishing company that produces Hatsukoi volumes is called Cawaii Comics.
  • The cover volume images of all Hatsukoi Memory books are the same, with the number depicting its volume placement as the only thing that signifies each of their differences.
  • The closest most extended manga series is "KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops," lasting 201 volumes and 1,960 chapters.
  • A fan asked Nishi about the confusing timeline of Hatsukoi Memory, namely that Iruma was involved in its publication, and yet the volumes in Ameri's collection have been handed down for "generations" in the Azazel family. Nishi's response was a very evasive "Yes. About that... hehe... eventually, it will come up in the main story."[4]
