The Heartbreaker is a special exam between the 26 first years and The Misfit Class. The purpose of the Heartbreaker as explained by Naberius Kalego is to deal with the pride and ego the members of the misfit class have. As they have let their previous successes go to their heads. Which is shown by Bars Robin immediately opping of one Shax Lied's junior's ballon the second the special exam started.
The rules of the Heartbreaker are simple.
- Each member of the misfit class are assigned two of the 26 first years.
- Each of the first years will have a heart shaped balloon attached to them.
- If both balloons are popped that team will lose. So, as long as there is still one balloon they are still in the game.

Trivia[]
- It can be argued the humility lesson of this exam wasn’t necessary for Iruma as he never lets pride and ego cloud his judgment. Though it was likely to teach him to be more brutal against enemies lest his ally’s suffer.
- Alice’s promotion to rank 5 means he now has the same rank as Iruma and the 2 are now the highest rank in their class.
- Team Gaap is the only team not to be seen fighting any teacher and lost within the first 3-8 teams.
