Appearance[]
Ifrit has two pale, spiked horns that curve upwards from his forehead. His hair is short and very dark, with a lock of hair falling down the middle of his forehead between his horns and two longer locks framing his face that reach his chin. His tail has a flame at the end which covers the common spade-shape tip, and his nails are painted a dark color. He wears the standard teacher's uniform for Babyls, and is usually seen with a cigarette.
Personality[]
Ifrit is confident in his strength. While he comes off as nonchalant at first, he gets fired up when fighting and can be brash and boastful. However he's able to recognize when his opponent has bested him and praises Asmodeus Alice for his fire magic skills.
History[]
His family history as he tells it, is that a Demon named "Eida" challenged the Djinn of Fire, Ifrit. Eida was endowed with the fire of Ifrit, but burned in the flames and was reduced to ash. When a hundred years passed, a trail of smoke rose from the ashes, and a demon wreathed in fire was born. This marked the beginning of the Ifrit Clan, a family of fire specialists.
Synopsis[]
Ifrit appears in passing a few times prior, but doesn't feature prominently until the Heartbreaker arc, where he's one of the teachers tasked with challenging the students. He is one of the teachers released to patrol after the first 13 minutes. He approaches Teams Asmodeus and Caim to fight them, however Asmodeus Alice tells the other students to escape while he stays behind to fight. Ifrit attempts to intimidate Asmodeus, using his purple flames to fight Asmodeus's Fire magic. He comments that Fire magic isn't Asmodeus's bloodline ability and tries to goad him into using that instead, but Alice refuses, and instead attempts a technique he had been developing with Balam Shichiro called Amaryllis. The technique's blue flames catch Ifrit off guard, and it soon begins to absorb his attacks. Ifrit attacks Asmodeus with a large amount of Mana to try and overload the ability, but Asmodeus overpowers Ifrit and knocks him down. Ifrit resurfaces covered in a flame armor, but injured and with his uniform burned and damaged, yelling in frustration that Asmodeus is only a rank 4 at that skill level and promising to help Asmodeus kick Kalego's butt. Still not discouraged, he challenges Azz to a round two while smiling.

Flame manipulation[]
His bloodline magic, a technique which produces powerful purple flames. Whether the beast-like shape the flames take is a familiar, part of the technique, or similar to the Naberius clan's possession isn't entirely clear.

Trivia[]
- Ifrit usually keeps the flame on his tail extinguished around the other teachers due to them not respecting the flames and using it for minor things like lighting their cigarettes or cooking meals, which improved the taste, but disrespectful of the Ifrit.[2]
- Ifrit has been visible in the background of the manga for quite a while, but many readers (and the anime staff, if his horn coloring in season 2 episode 7 is any indication) mistook him for Marbas.
- He appears in If Mafia au as Alice's senior in the Police Academy, his superior officer, and the one who twisted the latter's views of justice.
- He initially was friendly to Alice when he transferred into the Police Academy dorms when they were kids. Then he roughed up Alice when he got the chance, telling him to know his place.
- He also was in charge of Human Trafficking incidents, the main reason why Clara can't get legal police aid in her plight.
- He is also "Black Rabbit", his alias inside the trafficking ring.
- He is Alice's superior inside the police force.
- He also brought his love for cigarettes in the AU.
