Invitation to Friendship! is the twenty-eighth and fifth episode of the second season of the anime series Mairimashita! Iruma-kun.
Synopsis[]
After finishing his time at with the student council, Iruma finally goes back home; Sullivan is ecstatic that Iruma came home and throws him a welcome home party.
Summary[]
Immediately arriving home, Iruma is jumped on and welcomed home by his grandfather Lord Sullivan and Opera. Inside their home, a banner is hung in the living room with the announcement of a welcome home party written on it. However, it's revealed that every day within the past week that Iruma has come home, a party was held for him. While Sullivan is elated by Iruma's return home once again, he reveals that the theme of this party is actually a Welcome Home After-Party. This time around for the party, Sullivan offers Iruma to invite some of his friends over for it.
Afterward, in his room, Iruma contemplates who he should contact to invite to the party since never in his life before has he done such a thing. So building the courage to text his friends an invite to the party, Iruma texts Alice and Clara. Thanks to Ali appearing, a nervous Iruma sends the text to his friends. As Iruma rebukes Ali for their sudden appearance startling him into sending the text, Iruma gets a reply from both Azz and Clara that they're arrive soon. Iruma then anxiously paces around his room noting how he's never had friends over before. Therefore, Ali suggests that Iruma clean his room to impress his girlfriend. Once again, Iruma rebukes Ali claiming that Clara is in no way his girlfriend and that Azz is also coming. However, just as Iruma vacuums his room a bit, the doorbell rings and both Azz and Clara arrive. They reveal that their respective parents and family say "Hi" to Iruma and then offer him their gifts.
Later, in the dining hall, everyone while wearing silly glasses, enjoy dinner and after it, Opera suggests they all play a new game the household recently purchased. The game is called "Devil Dance Liberation", everyone enjoys dancing to the game's rythem, and in the end, Sullivan places in last, Iruma 4th, Azz 3rd, Clara 2nd, and Opera 1st. Opera then suggests they enjoy some dessert, while Sullivan laments over placing in last, he notes that his position as grandpa and chairman is compromised. Hence, right before they could enjoy some dessert, Sullivan suggests they play a game called "Dark Parade". Lead deep down within Sullivan's house, Azz explains the rules of the game to Iruma. Continuing forth on their descent down the stair, Opera asks Sullivan his motives are as they're no tricks or traps at the bottom, only a closet. However, Sullivan reassures Opera that he's planned everything out, a scheme of sort to allow himself to be super cool in front of Iruma and the others. Stopping midway, Sullivan goes forth to investigate a tunnel-way with a broken gate. Moments after, Sullivan exits the tunnel-way as he's accosted by a big creature. The creature, in fact, was really one of Sullivan's magical beast pets all dressed up and was ordered to take part in Sullivan's ploy to gain favor with Iruma and his friends. It all fails, however, due to Azz and Clara interfering with the help of their respective summons. Despondent over his foiled plan, Iruma suggests they continue onward.
Eventually, the group reach a giant doorway and upon entering and walking down it, Sullivan's soliloquy reveals that it's just a closet of no importance. With no other choice, Sullivan begs for Opera's help and they agree to help, however, they note that Sullivan owes them one in the future. At the end of the pathway, a skeletal dragon appears, but in reality, it was just a projection from the game they played earlier. Taking advantage of the situation, Sullivan uses his Greatest Grandfather Attack to "Destroy" the beast. As it turns out, a tiny treasure chest was left behind, and inside of it was a fruit tart comprised of the fruit that Azz and Clara brought over and was made by Opera. Although Sullivan tries to act coolly about the situation, he's once again despondent when Iruma an his friends credit Opera with the whole game.
Back upstairs in the dining room, Iruma and his friends enjoy the fruit tart, while Sullivan laments over his foiled plans. Noting that his friends will have to come home soon, Iruma asks if they'd like to stay over longer and they agree to. They all then head to Iruma's room and Azz states how clean it is and compliments his alarm clock. Then they all start to bounce on Iruma's bed and heartily laugh as they enjoy themselves. Afterward, David arrives to pick up Azz and Clara's family pick up Clara, but before they go, Iruma invites them over another time and they happily agree. Before heading to bed, Iruma thanks Sullivan and Opera. In bed, Ali pops out of their ring, and the two briefly talk about Iruma's experiences since he's arrived in the Demon School. To help Iruma understand the Evil Cycle and Personality Change more, Ali casts a spell that causes Iruma to experience both. The following morning, when Sullivan and Opera visit Iruma as he awakens, they experience an awful surprise.
