Iruma Suzuki[]
Kalego holds a massive grudge against Iruma for multiple reasons – causing a scene at the opening ceremony, humiliating Kalego by summoning him as a familiar, being the grandson of his willful boss, and just generally being an unpredictable troublemaker, whether or not that is Iruma's intention. Despite this, some of Kalego's irritation seems to come from a place of concern. He repeatedly warns Iruma not to take it for granted that he can manage any crisis independently and rely more on the adults around him, namely Kalego himself. He even seems confused about why Iruma does not summon him in dangerous situations, despite Kalego's proclamation that he would never be Iruma's familiar. Iruma, in turn, seems deeply touched whenever Kalego shows concern for him. During his home visit to the Sullivan household, Kalego spoke his unbiased and honest opinion of Iruma as a teacher, acknowledging Iruma's academic progress and saying that he believed that Iruma's will to overcome any challenge was his most precious talent.[1]
He has grown more favorable towards Iruma over time. In the Harvest Festival, he made a personal announcement to Iruma over the public broadcast, to the amusement of his fellow teachers.[2] He was also the quickest to reach Iruma when he emerged from the underground, despite scolding the boy harshly for causing a scene and having 0 points.[3] In the music festival, he appeared to trust Iruma enough to leave the task of bonding with and convincing Purson Soi to participate entirely in Iruma and the Abnormal Class.[4] At the beginning of the second year, when Kalego realized that Iruma was worried about what would happen to him after he canceled their familiar contract, he surprisingly reassured him by not only revealing that he doesn't have a familiar due to his bloodline magic, but that he can still be a strong student thanks to all that he has learned. He still did try to give him a new familiar, but due to not knowing that he was human, the rules of summoning a new familiar didn't apply to him, resulting in him becoming familiar once again.
Iruma's actions during his evil cycle hint at some latent resentment toward Kalego, as Momonoki's signature, is the only one whose signature is obtained by underhanded means – stealing Kalego's personal diary and using it to extort her. However, for the most part, he respects Kalego as a teacher and appreciates him as an adult who cares and looks out for him. He does not actively want to cause Kalego's grievances and appears exceedingly sorry whenever something like that happens, even being willing to cancel his contract with him at the beginning of the second year for his sake (even though he ended up becoming his summon anyway afterward). During the Harvest Festival, Iruma hallucinates many people he cares about turning their backs on him for being human, including Kalego, which profoundly upsets him.
After the Deviculum, Kalego knows Iruma is human and does not care as he is his student. His species doesn't matter to him.
Balam Shichiro[]
Shichiro and Kalego were classmates at Babyls and appear to be long-time friends, much to the shock of Kalego's students.[5] The two are on a first-name basis, and Kalego is notably more patient with Shichiro than with most people, even when Shichiro compulsively hugs and pets Kalego in his fluffy familiar form. In a volume extra, Kalego even shows a deep understanding of his friend's insecurities about eating with other people and leaves a party to order room service for himself and Shichiro to eat together alone. Kalego seems to genuinely respect Shichiro. Shichiro is the only demon, besides himself, at Babyls to have the rank 8 (Chet). Kalego also trusts him enough to let him train Sabnock Sabro and Asmodeus Alice, who are stated to be the two most physically powerful students in the Abnormal Class. As fellow demons with rank 8, Kalego treats Shichiro as his equal and has a more casual relationship, something he's never done with anyone else thus far. Kalego even comments about how scary Shichiro looks, and also, when he cuts his hair, he tells him that he is scared differently. Kalego and Shichiro often talk about their students and share opinions about their progress.
Shichiro is the one who indirectly didn't deny Iruma's humanity; likewise, the conversation, according to Kalego, never happened. He was present when Kalego declared his brother an enemy of Babyls due to his actions, which led to the incident of the Heartbreaker Exam.
Opera[]
Opera was Kalego's upperclassman in their school days at Babyls, and their antics seem to have scarred Kalego for life. Opera still greatly enjoys humiliating Kalego at every opportunity, though they act as though it's just affectionate ribbing and makes the dubious claim that they were very close in their school days. Kalego, on the other hand, avoids Opera whenever possible, even going as far as using Iruma as a literal human shield during his home visit to the Sullivan house. Little is known about their school days, other than Opera refers to themselves as Kalego's senior who badgered him in school and made him carry all their bags.
It was more significantly amusing considering that Opera is now a part of the practical's teaching staff keeping an eye on Shiida.
Lord Sullivan[]
Kalego dislikes Sullivan, who embodies all three traits that Kalego hates most – obnoxious, brash, and inconsiderate of others. On top of this, Sullivan often seems to single out Kalego for fun, cutting his pay on a whim and creating annoyingly cutesy instructional tools to force Kalego to use them in class. Sullivan hiring Opera as his butler may also contribute to Kalego's grudge. Despite Sullivan's antics, he seems to appreciate Kalego's abilities as a teacher, naming him as interim headmaster when Sullivan was arrested and proudly declaring that he knew he had made the right choice to assign Kalego to the Abnormal Class as he showed off Kalego's thorough notes on Iruma's progress.[6]
Bars Robin[]
Kalego dislikes Robin, disagreeing fundamentally with his approach as a teacher and perhaps holding a grudge against him for the humiliation that he suffered as Iruma's familiar in Robin's class. On top of this, Robin is the unwittingly obnoxious person Kalego hates the most. Oblivious to both Kalego's identity as Iruma's familiar and his blatant hatred toward him, Robin seems to admire Kalego a great deal as a teacher and constantly pushes his buttons by trying to be helpful, egged on by the other faculty members. Nevertheless, Kalego seems to have some respect for Robin's abilities as an archer and even a teacher, as he assigned Robin to be Iruma and Lied's personal tutor in preparation for the Harvest Festival.
His ability bull's eye shot informed Sullivan of an issue at the school when he was arrested, which saved everyone's lives from being burned by giant balls of fire from the fireworks Kirio made.
Abnormal Class[]
Kalego seems disgruntled to have to be the homeroom teacher for the Abnormal Class, which he claimed was pushed onto him while he was on leave. He denies ever "getting along" with them and that the children loved to mess with him. However, he understands each and every one of his students very thoroughly, strengths and weaknesses. Though he does enjoy seeing them having a hard time with the tasks they are given, he always puts their education first and foremost, assigning them suitable tutors and tasks to facilitate their growth. However, he is very stingy when praising and appreciating their achievements, thinking it would only make them complacent.
The students of the class fear and respect Kalego, but it does not mean they do not try to mess with him every once in a while, especially Lied, Jazz and Purson. They have developed an interesting back-and-forth dynamic. The Abnormal Class is quite attached to Kalego, and they were sincerely touched when their homeroom teacher was supposedly praising their achievement. He also recently joined the Abnormal Class Group Chat.
Naberius Narnia[]
Kalego seems to respect his older brother a great deal. Through Kalego's flashback, they had a rather formal relationship when Kalego was young. However, what Narnia said to him, to lead a life he would be proud of, left a lasting impression on the younger Naberius and helped solidify his resolve.
In the present day, however, Kalego becomes suspicious of Narnia's goals after Atori, who Narnia recommended as a teacher for Babyls, causes trouble at the school, leading Kalego to seek him to ask about his actions. He finally gets to talk with him following Behemolt's attack during the Deviculum but is left deeply shocked by Narnia's simple answer that it was "necessary." When Narnia tells him he has nothing to worry about, Kalego realizes that despite still respecting him, he does not like his answer. He also becomes unsettled when Narnia tells him to stay away from Iruma, leaving Kalego even more confused by his brother.
After telling Shichiro what he learned, he declares that Narnia is an enemy of Babyls and him for putting the students in such danger with his actions. He also has come to suspect that Narnia's warning about Iruma is due to him being human.
Morax Momonoki[]
Not much is known between the two, but Momonoki is shown to have a crush on Kalego, becoming flustered whenever she is in his presence. His private notebook was used to get her to sign the Classroom Change application for the Abnormal Class. She also finds his familiar form especially cute, more so than anybody else. During her newbie days as a teacher, she was put under Kalego's teaching, which may have been the start of her admiration of him.
Cerberion[]
Cerberion is one of the wolves formed out of the bloodline magic of the Naberius Family, automatically appearing before Kalego whenever he activates his bloodline magic. However, Cerberion is quite emotionally unstable, initially causing severe injuries to Kalego when he first tries to tame him, even giving him a massive scar across his back. Also, Cerberion is so overprotective that he kills any familiar that Kalego tries to contract. This is a problem, it seems, throughout the Naberius family, most likely.
