The Dorodoro Brothers' Provocation (ドロドロ兄弟の挑発, Dorodoro Kyōdai no Chōhatsu) is the fifty-third episode and the ninth episode of the third season of the anime series Mairimashita! Iruma-kun.

Summary[]

The challenge between the Dorodoro brothers and Asmodeus and Sabnock is underway. As they face a fearsome creature, Asmodeus decides to induce his evil cycle.

Plot[]

Asmodeus dodges the boss creature and tries to attack only to see his fire returned to him. Ichiro attempts to land a strike, but Sabnock cuts in and makes it instead. However, with only seventy-nine attacks landing, the golden fruit attached to the large bird remains intact.

In a flashback, the challenge the Dorodoro brothers offered was quickly rejected by Asmodeus and Sabnock as the two felt a competition against the brothers would greatly interfere with their points gathering and Asmodeus hoping that Iruma will praise his efforts. As the two turn to leave, they are right away insulted by the brothers for being too cowardly to accept their challenge. Though Asmodeus and Sabnock were able to resist for a while, they eventually gave in and accepted the challenge that led them to currently be faced against the Hundred Flaringo worth ten thousand eight hundred points. As its own name points out, the golden fruit hanging from the creature has to be struck around one hundred times before it falls off its body.

As Sabnock lands the eightieth strike and makes a visible impact, the Flaringo attempts to land a powerful kick. Sabnock manages to dodge but does sustain minor scratches. As the brothers take the next turn to attack, Asmodeus carefully watches the two and notices the older brother, Ichiro, is a skilled warrior while the younger brother, Niro, is a clever strategist who guides his brother's movements and attacks. They work in such unison that Asmodeus and Sabnock are left to look like amateurs as their abilities get in each other's way.

However, it is revealed to be happening due to the Dorodoro's bloodline ability: Switch. An ability that riles up their opponents and causes them to abandon rationality the more they are taunted. With Niro having done research on the two, he is able to mock Sabnock about his desire to become the demon king enough that Sabnock nearly attacks the two and is only spared when Asmodeus stops him. Thanks to his own observations, he was able to figure out the two were using magic to provoke them. With their scheme exposed, the brothers fly into a rage since this is the first time that anyone has figured out their bloodline magic. They exclaim how their voices are the source of their power and that it was their beloved master who helped them to love the voices they once hated.

During their youth, Ichiro and Niro hailed from a family that used their special ability to negotiate things to be in their favor. While they too were taught the ways of negotiation, they both dreamed of being war heroes. Although they enrolled in Babyls, they couldn't let go of their dream and ran away the first chance they had. They eventually made their way to the Northern Battlefield that was said to be the most intense war taking place but were nearly killed upon entering the fight and only survived thanks to their master taking them in and giving them training to become proper soldiers. The two highly respect their master but felt they were still not proper warriors because of their rare bloodline ability. This quickly changed when their master praised their special ability and called it an advantage in battle as well as giving them a new family name so they would not feel held back. Because of this, Ichiro and Niro grew to use their voices to their advantage and make a name for themselves on the battlefield.

Just when they felt useful to their master and that they could repay him for all he had done for them, the brothers were horrified to learn that their master had been summoned to Babyls to become a teacher in what they felt was against his wishes. While they tried to prevent him from leaving, they had seen his upset expression as he left; revealing their mentor to having been Furfur. The brothers became so upset at his departure that they looked into all of the students and felt that Sabnock and Asmodeus were the only two with the power and skills worthy of Furfur's attention.

Unaware that the mentor for the two is actually Balam, Ichiro and Niro claim that their master hates the idea of being a teacher, wanted nothing more than to have fun by drinking and romancing women, and wasn't much for physical contact. Thinking the two are talking about Balam, Asmodeus and Sabnock dispute their claims and say their mentor is the very opposite in every way, especially his random head pats. Hearing this type of affection come from whom they think is their master, the brothers rage peaks and they decide to use their ultimate ability, Scream.

Together, they let out a wail so powerful that the Flaringo is driven into a rage and intends to attack Sabnock and Asmodeus. When the brothers speak of this being a result of fine tuning their magic during battle, they call all those who attend Babyls "lame grunts". This right away proves to be a bad maneuver on their end when Asmodeus becomes angered at their claim including Iruma. After landing another attack on the Flaringo, Asmodeus decides to use the method taught by Balam to willingly enter his evil cycle.

Doing this leaves the Dorodoro brothers in a stunned phase as they watch the powerful Asmodeus elegantly dance about while landing powerful attacks on the Flaringo. Thanks to being taught how to willingly enter the evil cycle, Asmodeus is more than powerful enough to be able to obtain the golden apple. But with this task done, he now turns his attention to the Dorodoro brothers. Although they dodge his first attack, the brothers realize that, even if Asmodeus is disqualified for attacking them, they will be destroyed from the raw power alone.

With Asmodeus preparing to strike and Niro trying to save his brother, Sabnock places himself in the middle as he remembers Balam's instructions of using a safe word to bring one another out of their cycle. Sabnock proceeds to shout Iruma's name and successfully bring Asmodeus out of his evil cycle. However, he cannot recall anything he did during the cycle which leads to an argument with Sabnock about who will keep most of the points while leaving Ichiro and Niro in a state of speechlessness.
