Contents
Summary[]
The Harvest Tournament is about to begin. With all the first-years hoping to win, the Misfit Class aim to prove how much stronger they've become as they face new challenges.
Plot[]
In the valley, Bachiko and Iruma go through a check of both Iruma and his equipment for the upcoming tournament. Bachiko takes this chance to remind Iruma that he is only allowed to use two arrows and that they should only be used when he has no other choice.
On a program, Professors Dali and Suzy remark how the cooler weather is perfect for hot pot and how they'd enjoy sharing the meal with the students if they gather the ingredients. As the instructor for demon plants, Suzy has prepared a jungle like area for the first-year students to use for the Harvest festival. They continue explaining that the students will need to prioritize their needs during the next several days and may need to work with others at certain points. They add how Ameri was the winner of the tournament the previous year and how the champion of the tournament is guaranteed a level-up in their ranking which almost always leads to a promising and successful future in the nether world.
Four gateways are soon presented as the first-years make final preparations. The students talk amongst themselves about things they've gotten to prepare for the harvest when they take notice and caution of students such as Nafra who emits an order so strong that demons will faint if they get into close proximity and the Androalphus/Dorodoro brothers who are well known to skip classes in order to participate in battles in the ongoing war as well as being rule breakers who should technically be second-years were it not for their mischievous ways holding them back. Another student catching attention is Orobas who has somehow managed to always rank second in any event held.
With the others starting to believe their chances for success are low no matter which entrance they use, Walb points out that the students they really need to be on guard against are Asmodeus, Allocer, and the rest of the misfit class. When Walb receives glares from Orobas and Ichiro, he remains firm in his statement that the students of the Abnormal Class are the true stars given all they have accomplished so far. Despite that, many of the students have noticed how close the Misfit Class is and think their chumminess with one another don't make them as intimidating as their accomplishments make them seem.
However, this image is quickly dismissed when the Misfit Class arrives with a serious and intimidating atmosphere around them. In a nearby tree, the tutors have gathered to watch the students make their debut. At the same time, the Misfit students tell how they are glad to have made it through their training but an argument of who had the toughest training leads the classmates to use the tournament to see who the better duo is. At that moment, Iruma arrives and notices everyone's serious expressions.
Asmodeus explains that everyone is prepared for the tournament and becomes joyful when Iruma greets him and notices that Iruma appears stronger from his training. At the same time, Iruma sees how Asmodeus and their other classmates have gone through difficult training in hopes of being able to raise their ranks. Iruma becomes optimistic about everyone being able to raise their ranks to the point that Asmodeus catches his optimism until he realizes that the tournament will further keep him apart from Iruma.
Dali and Suzy call for everyone's attention to announce the four-day time limit of the tournament and have everyone gather by the gate they plan to use. Before they part ways, Lied has the Misfit Class huddle together. He acknowledges that they've all gone through difficult training and hopes they can all prove themselves once more. Then, he makes Iruma join him in declaring that they will be the winning team while warning all others to stay out of their way.
The tournament begins. As the first-years rush through the gates, it's explained that different ingredients will vary in the number of points and that harder to obtain ingredients will bring in higher points. A warning is made that Professor Balam will be watching for anyone trying to pass off counterfeits as legitimate items. The announcements close with warnings that fighting between students is prohibited and that teachers will be wandering about to keep an eye out for everyone's safety.
A trio of students is soon running from a Sweet-Berian Tiger until Asmodeus appears and easily defeats the large beast. After he defeats the tiger, Asmodeus gathers other ingredients skillfully but the trio he saved notice that he's crying. The reason for his tears is that Asmodeus is in a bad mood at not being able to be with Iruma again, but he decides to use his sorrow and pain to prove how much he has grown.
With Asmodeus gathering nearly all of the ingredients in the area and Sabro catching his own share, the two come to the conclusion that they will now need to go after larger ingredients that are worth more points. With the class working in pairs, Asmodeus determines that they will need to hunt Boss Class ingredients or hunt down the mysterious Legend Leaf that is worth one hundred thousand points. However, no one has even seen the Legend Leaf which makes its very existence questionable and more of a rumor at this point. Because of this, Asmodeus determines the best course of action is to proceed with hunting Boss Class ingredients while searching for the Legend Leaf.
Just as they start to plan out where to start looking, the two are suddenly approached by the Dorodoro brothers who propose a challenge.

Difference between Anime and Manga[]
- Anime: The episode begins with Iruma and Bachiko in the valley. Manga: This moment happens right after the tutors are shown.
- Anime: Just before Dali and Suzy mention how Ameri was the winner of the previous tournament, Sullivan and Opera are seen watching from behind a curtain. Manga: This does not take place.
- Although Ameri is shown wearing the same outfit in the anime and manga, the anime added a bow to the front of the uniform and removed a choker necklace.
- Manga only: When Walb is glared at by Oboras and Ichiro, Niro and Narfa are also seen glaring at him.
- Anime only: A scene of Kalego, Robin, and Orias is shown before the appearance of the Sweet-Berian Tiger.
