The Strongest Halberd (最強の矛, Saikyō no Hoko) is the fortieth episode and the seventeenth episode of the second season of the anime series Mairimashita! Iruma-kun.
Synopsis[]
The Balam team is trying to get to safety after saving some kids who weren't able to escape on their own in time; Asmodeus and Sabnock decide to fight the carmine dragon without telling anyone else.
Summary[]
Balam, Iruma, and Agares carry the rescued the children from before using Agares floating cloud. Iruma worries for Sabro and Azz, however, Balam tries to reassure Iruma that they should be fine. The moment after, they're seen fighting against the Carmine Dragon using their magical spells. As the two bicker on about whose attack was better on the dragon, Azz gets distracted after he spots Iruma and then is nearly swiped by the Dragon's tail. In retaliation, Azz fires off another spell at the dragon, which Sabro argues nearly hit him, this creates another argument between the two. They then summon their magical beasts to help them, but this causes more friction between the two. Watching from afar, Balam is impressed by both Azz and Sabro's power as 1st-year students from Babyls, but notes that he should join the battle too. Just then, the dragon releases a devasting breath attack aimed at Iruma's group, however, Balam shields them from it, but the Dragon fires off another directly at Azz. As this occurs, Iruma recalls Kalego's words from before about his over not wanting help from others. Despondent that he lost Azz, Balam snaps Iruma out of his trance and shows him that Azz was rescued by Sabro, who took quite a lot of damage. Although Azz was upset that Sabro didn't use him as a decoy to attack the dragon, Sabro proclaims that it'd be more "awesome" if he rescued him. The Dragon then fires off another attack and now in a safer location, Sabro suggests they retreat. The suggestion agitates Azz, but Sabro claims if his reason for staying is for his ambition, then he should stay. As for him, Sabro states that since joining Babyls he's learned from his mistakes and has grown because of them. On the other hand, Azz's obsession with Iruma has made him stagnant and not grown a single bit. So, with the last of his power, Azz casts a firewall to help in their retreat, but mentions that just for that one time, Sabro was right. As they flee the scene, the dragon fires off another blast, aimed at the two, but they're protected by Balam.
After Iruma and Azz have a tearful reunion with each other, Balam manages to defeat the dragon with the help from his Nigiphir. While all seemed well, the three defeated monsters' bodies then merge into one creating a composite magical beast. It fires off a magical blast from its mouth and through the combined efforts from Opera, Ameri, and Balam, the group is protected from the blast. Opera informs Iruma that he followed the scent of Iruma's cologne to their location. Agreeing to help Balam fight against the composite beast, Opera has Iruma use his secret weapon to summon Kalego to their location. Through the combined effort of the three, they easily defeat the beast. However, the Six Fingers make the beast become a mana fueled bomb that its detonation would be strong enough to destroy a large fraction of the park. Quick thinking from Kalego has him instruct Agares to use his magic to create a hole deep enough to protect them all, however, the beast was directing its attention at the emergency shelter. Although Iruma wants to save everyone in the shelter, Balam claims there's isn't a way to do it. Appearing out of nowhere, Ronove uses his Charisma magic to direct the beast's attention to him. Once this works, Iruma jumps in front of the beast and holds out his hand with the Ring of Gluttony.
