The Thirteen Crowns (13冠13 Kan?) represent the Demon World's most powerful and influential group of demons and represent its pillar. They govern and rule the demon world. This renowned elite classification compromises three major entities, which enlist the One Demon King, the Three Greats, and the remaining nine members, one of which acts as a second-in-command.[1]
Delkira's Seal
It is believed that the Demon World has been falling into chaos since the previous Demon King became absent, so the crowns try their best to organize its peace. If one of them goes missing, panic will spread among the populace, resulting in further chaos. As a part of their status, members of the Thirteen Crowns can act with total impunity. In other words, they can do whatever they want.[2] Members of the Thirteen Crowns also have access to Derkila's Seal, a special seal once used by Derkila. The seal can normally only be used with the approval of each of the Three Greats and, even then, takes six months to be properly used. However, any order issued with the seal is considered absolute and must be fulfilled without question, with even other crowns not being able it fight it.[3]
They often held regular meetings on the 665th floor of the Babel Tower.

The New Thirteen Crowns[]
After the deviculum that will stay in memories as "The Thirteenth of Betrayal," three members of the Thirteen Crowns were replaced. First, during the ball, Naberius Narnia of Demon Border Patrol and Mephistopheles, the kingmaker, were announced to replace the Dark Emperor Glasya and the Glutton Lord Behemolt, who were both missing at the time. Second, at the demand of Thunder Lord Baal with the support of Princess Shura, a third seat was opened by ending the reign of Demon King Derkila, missing for a thousand years. After a few days of deliberation on the situation, it was decided that the undead archer Barbatos Bachiko would take the last seat, frustrating Belzebuth Zebubra, the only candidate present at the deviculum who failed to join the ranks of the Thirteen Crowns.
Demon King Candidates[]
The deviculum also announced the Trickster Plan. The plan is to find a new demon king among a new generation of young demons to rise. Since the Three Greats told the plan to the rest of the Thirteen Crown members, everybody kept an open eye for aspiring demons to give their support to. With the public announcement made at the deviculum, the young demons present at the ball, Iruma Suzuki, Belial-Berry Razberry, Leviathan Leiji, Azazel Ameri, and Asmodeus Alice, became the first acknowledged candidates to become the new Demon King.
Trivia[]
Glasya is the only member of the Crowns that has yet to be seen, having only been mentioned by name.
