Verbal Magic (口頭魔術 Kōtō Majutsu?) is one of the three types of Magic used in the Demon World. Verbal Magic is the most commonly used of the three, and, as the name implies, uses a verbal incantation to produce magic.
Unlike Bloodline Magic and Non-Verbal Magic, any demon can use Verbal magic with little practice. The limits are how much mana the demon has and the creativity the demon desires. Evidence from Alikred criticizing Iruma's lack of creative desire with the Cherusil spell on the frog during class.

Different Levels of Spells[]
It has been revealed in Chapter 220 that there are two types of magic the Misfits can learn.
Intimated Spells[]
The first-year's introduction to magic is the simplest spells taught them during their Magic Basics lessons.
Advanced Spells[]
The advanced and difficult versions of magic in the second year can be learned. Ipos Ichou and Morax Momonoki have shown versions of advanced magic, including Grand versions of known Verbal Magic such as Fractal and possibly Cocoon.
Known Verbal Magic[]
These are the verbal spells taught to and we're used by Iruma. Though their appearences are short and some may appear the most than others, they're the well known spells through out the series.
Ribera "Libera"[]
Libera in Action
At full power, the spell can easily destroy large boulders, giving the caster the advantage in combat or playing a game. As mentioned, the spell manifests as a long serpentine blue dragon with violet eyes and a yellow lighting aura giving off a devastating appearance. It is most likely the Ifrit Mode from Iruma's ring when the first cast, since devil mode had a much smaller blue form to show the least destructive path.
Rafire "La Fire"[]
Iruma testing the new modes on his ring.
It is unclear how powerful this spell is, at least not yet.
Cherushiru "Cherusil"[]
Also known as Transformation Magic, this spell can change the appearance and form of an object or person. Iruma is seen using this spell to change a frog's color, his clothes, and Ali's appearance twice in the series. Ali also used this spell to change his looks and even his own shape once Iruma had risen his rank to He.
The extent of this magic is seen at the end of Season 2, where Iruma envisions Ali's appearance in Walter Park's mascot and size to swallow the Composite Magical Beasts' mana in one big gulp. And that was without going to the ring's Pandora Mode.
"Quan Quan"[]
Iruma's surprise magic spell
The teacher Stolas Suzy is the first user to show this spell in action, transforming her sapling into a representation of her personality. The rest of the misfit class demonstrated this spell, ending with Iruma creating a giant Cherry Blossom tree that destroyed the Diabotany Division. Quan Quan is used again during the Harvest Festival Arc, where Iruma and Lied attempt to make the Legendary Flower bloom.
"Fractal"[]
Iruma carrying Ameri after casting Fractal
In the Heartbreaker Arc, Iruma used this spell again to increase Shiida's weight during their fight. And there's an even stronger version Ipos Ichou used against Atori called "Grand Fractal."
"Quartz Quartz"[]
Bachiko shows off how to use the spell by creating a wooden bow
Another form of transformation magic, this spell can turn core material into a Mana Bow. The material must have a core base element: wood, metal, or plastic. Once chosen and chanted, the bow will transform, reflecting their personality, similar to how the "Quan Quan" and "Cherusil" spells work. Iruma learned this spell from Barbatos Bachiko during the Harvest Festival Arc.
Iruma uses this spell as his primary ability to compensate for his lack of offense and aid his friends from a distance (after all, he is only human). Such as when he saved Clara from Orobas Coco's illusion during the Harvest Festival. He then uses it again in the Akudol Games arc disguise as “Irumi”. Then again during the Heartbreaker Arc when he’s protecting his Kouhai from the teachers.
Other Verbal Magic[]
These are other verbal spells spoken by other demons throughout the series. Though not used often, these spells affect the series' plot.
"The Anti-Fall Spell" A forbidden spell that keeps the caster from falling down for an entire day.
"Sexy-Scope" A unique succubus ability that measures a demon's percentage of sexiness.
"Spered (Spiletto, "Accelerate")" An acceleration enhancement spell to increase a demon's speed and reflexes.
"Doppler" An advanced spell that clones the caster.
"Bolt Strike" An elemental attack that fires lightning bolts from the caster's hand has similar effects as a lightning bolt.
"Shaver (Wind Blade)" An elemental attack that creates a sharp gust of wind similar to Gaap Goemon's bloodline ability, "Wind Sword."
"Volgard (Great Lighting)" A stronger version of "Bolt Strike."
"Grand Cocoon" A strong barrier in the form of a bubble covered in vines and flowers.
"Wind Gods Blade" A stronger version of "Shaver," powerful enough to slice down trees.
"Grand Fractal" A stronger version of "Fractal," powerful enough to create large craters.
"Equivocal" A powerful, loud sonic scream that can shake the surrounding area.
"Gran" A defensive spell like Grand Cocoon, but without the vines and flowers just the barrier. It can deflect elemental attacks like fire and wind magic.
Trivia[]
- It's explained that verbal and non-verbal spells can only be cast separately and never simultaneously. This is called the Ouroboros Rule.
- In myths, Ouroboros is described as a giant serpent or dragon eating its own tail (in either a circle or a figure-eight) as a representation of disorder that surrounds the orderly world. This could mean that if the demon were to do both verbal and non-verbal magic, they'll harm themselves or much worse.
- The Anti-Fall spell is the only magic Iruma has cast without the Ring of Gluttony.
- It has been stated by the author that Iruma was able to cast the Forbidden Spell because the magic for the spell was in words. It was preloaded, and Iruma reading it was just pulling the trigger and releasing it; no mana was required.[1]
