Wish Upon Your Bow 願いを弓に, Negai o Yumi ni) is the fifty-sixth episode and the Twelfth episode of the third season of the anime series Mairimashita! Iruma-kun.
Summary[]
Having obtained the Seed of Beginnings, Iruma and Nafra now try to find a way back to the surface, but Iruma faces his greatest fear along the way.
Plot[]
Having obtained the Seed of Beginnings, Iruma and Nafra begin following Thoth's instructions on how to get back to the surface. Iruma is very relived that the telling of First Love Memories was enough to get the seed but now he is concerned about what to tell Lied about Nafra being with him since it is assumed they are rivals but decides to put that aside for a later time.
As they walk, Iruma realized that Nafra's scent doesn't bother him anymore, but he is not sure why. He continues his thoughts when he sees the Harvest Tournament made him remember how he used to be before being adopted by Sullivan. Even after being taken to the demon world, Iruma admits that he had been fearful of those around him given what could have happened if they learned he's human but found his new family and friends are truly special. It is because of this that Iruma decides to look forward to things to come with excitement despite any potential fears.
Iruma and Nafra come to an open area of rock pillars and platforms. They begin making their way across with relative ease and Iruma occasionally helping Nafra onto higher platforms. Out of nowhere, Iruma starts feeling off but brushes off the feeling. After he climbs up onto another platform, he is shocked to see his parents standing a few feet away. He questions how they got to the demon world and hears how they got there by walking. He at first struggles to believe this but determines his parents most likely could have accomplished this feat if they really wanted to. His mother and father then confess that, although they are doing fine, they are flat broke again and are looking for their next get-rich-quick scheme.
Iruma determines that this is the time to stand up to his parents for selling him off but is unable to as his mother and father start going over locations to move to while completely ignoring Iruma. His frustration then quickly turns to fear when his mother announces they will be heading back home. When Iruma hesitates to agree, his parents question why he isn't agreeing right away like he usually does when they suddenly shape into a large shadow creature. Iruma is so frightened by the being before him that he walks backwards and falls into the darkness despite Nafra trying to save him.
It is at this point that Nafra sees that the creature Iruma saw was actually Orobas using his Trauma ability. Even though Orobas admits that he didn't intend for Iruma to fall, he states that the teen will most likely be haunted by what he saw should he have survived. Nafra becomes angry at the two and produces a powerful scent. Ocho tries to have Orobas handle Nafra but Orobas refuses since he is only targeting those from the Misfit Class. The two decide to leave and Nafra continues to search for any sign that Iruma is alive.
On the cave floor, Iruma regains consciousness. He last recalls seeing his parents before noticing his leg is injured. As he tries to figure out what to do, Asmodeus and Clara appear. He tries to ask for help but is shocked when Asmodeus slaps his hand away and reveals they know he's human and that all of his magic was a lie. They tell Iruma to leave the demon world and start to leave despite his pleas for them to stay. Ameri and Kalego then appear and state that he should never have been allowed into the demon world and spread his lies. Things only become worse when Sullivan and Opera appear and state that Iruma is being sent back to the human world.
With the shadow creature once more appearing, Iruma attempts to flee but is not able to get far due to his injured leg. As he takes shelter, Iruma tells himself that his friends would not say such things to him. He determines that they were all illusions but is still too terrified to move. He looks back on how he was always perfectly fine when he was alone but now feels different now that he has others he cares about around him. This leads him to realize how terrified he is at the thought of them leaving him. This forces him to admit how lonely he is.
Through his tears, Iruma suddenly hears Bachiko's voice scold him to his current state and appearing to forget everything she has taught him. When her image disappears, Iruma admits that she's right and prepares to fight the shadow creature. He transforms one of his feathers into an arrow. After remembering how Bachiko taught him to properly fire an arrow and how to best concentrate and act during a critical situation, Iruma takes aim and fires.
The shadow creature is destroyed and Iruma is left exhausted from the encounter. He then notices a spider-like creature marked with the wound from his arrow and figures out that everything he had seen and everyone he encountered was just an illusion. With a new sense of determination, Iruma gathers the Seed of Beginnings and loudly proclaims that he will win the tournament.

Sukima Segment[]
Nafra is announcing this sukima sequence instead of Clara. After passing quite some time with Nafra, Iruma got accustomed to her smell and started even to understand what she was saying.
